Why I'm Doing NaNoWriMo This Month
Ah, NaNoWriMo. If you aren't in the writing community you might not know what this is. Hell, even if you ARE in the writing community you might not know what it is. NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month and it takes place every November as a way for writers to start creating their novel.
So, why am I doing NaNoWriMo this month? To challenge myself. I mainly write poetry and short stories and during my writing career (is it really a career if I just do it for myself?) I've struggled with creating anything longer than a short story. So I figured I'd stand up to the challenge of attempting to write a novel. I think it will be fun - even if I never share my novel with anyone.
Tomorrow night I'll be taking part of a write-in and I'm pretty excited about it.
And if I fail at this, so what. NaPoWriMo starts in April. ;)

Yay! I love NaNoWriMo. There's just something about the motivation of knowing so many people are working towards the same goal!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more. Unfortunately I wasn't able to achieve my NaNoWriMo goal this past November. Life became very busy.
DeleteI know several bloggers who do this each year! Keep us posted!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't make my goal. :( November became very busy. I'm going to try for NaPoWriMo in April.
